SEO – Search Engine Optimization an Introduction

SEO and Keywords.
Today you have to keep internet search engines happy if you want a consistent flow of visitors who are looking for your products and services. Even if you run an offline business, your online marketing efforts, and this includes your website or blog, need to be found by the search engines.
2 Important Factors
The two important factors that help search engines find your content and list it in their search results so that people can find your business when they are searching online are:
- Keywords, Keyword phrases, and Longtail Keywords
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
In the early days of the internet, you could simply repeat a keyword over and over, and your web page or piece of content would rank high in search results for that particular word. As search engines evolved, they realized that this type of “keyword stuffing” resulted in poor content.
Algorithms Rule
Search engines changed their algorithms, as they do frequently, and SEO changed as a result. (Read more about Google Algorithms.)
This article provides a brief introduction to search engine optimization, of which keywords play an important part.
SEO Search Engine Optimization
Search engines as you know, are web pages where you enter words when you are searching for products, services, information, and other things on the internet.
Search engines like Google and Bing are constantly sending their bots out to roam the vast World Wide Web. They employ these search engine “spiders” or bots who “crawl” the web, and their ongoing goal is to find and index every web page and piece of content on the internet.

Ranking higher
Search engines rank content higher when that content has been optimized according to the search engine’s current ranking algorithm.
An important part of search engine algorithms is concerned with keywords. When you have the right mix of keywords, search engine optimization, and great content, you will eventually rank higher than your competition.
A goal then on your website is to keep internet search engines happy by giving them what they want, and they will return the favor by making you happy with lots of targeted traffic to your web properties.
Evergreen SEO strategy
When you’re an online entrepreneur, you need to make sure your site has implemented an evergreen SEO strategy for the best search engine optimization possible. When something is evergreen, it means that it’s a strategy that remains viable despite the passing of time.
You can publish it one year and it’ll still be search worthy and relevant even years down the road. There are many scammer traffic trends that will come and go, allowing unethical or desperate individuals to game the system for a short time.
But search engines always catch onto these measures, and it could be something that penalizes your site from getting the traffic you’re working so hard to generate.
Make sure you implement a solid SEO plan so that your site thrives and is able to compete in your niche.
